Russia claimed that the Japanese government is effectively encouraging military transactions between Japanese companies and Ukraine. It said that the explanation that the initiative was private-sector activity was “completely unconvincing” and warned of severe action and measures that would harm Japan.
Russia again emphasized that it considers weapons and facilities in Ukraine that produce them to be security threats and legitimate targets for attack.
The claims have been reported by multiple media organizations, and the actions of the Japanese company and Russia’s response could affect developments going forward.
