The first cohort of 71 people has received offers for “デジたま,” a staffing service that primarily develops digital talent from new graduates. This significantly exceeds the initial plan of 35, with the cohort scheduled to join in April 2027 and recruitment of around 100 people targeted for April 2028.
“デジたま,” a digital talent staffing service operated under ウィルオブ・ワーク, welcomed 71 offer recipients from its first cohort, whose recruitment began in September 2025, and held an offer ceremony on 2 October 2026. The number of offers for the first cohort exceeded expectations at the service launch, and the cohort will join in April 2027. While working at companies in the Tokyo metropolitan and Kansai regions, participants will spend approximately 2 years acquiring digital skills ranging from the basics to practical application. The company plans to expand the workforce joining in April 2028 to around 100 people.
デジたま develops skills in Excel, RPA, OCR and generative AI over approximately 2 years for young people who are new graduates without prior work experience. Through this 2-year training programme, it aims to provide companies with personnel who can contribute to productivity improvements. After the first cohort joins, participants will complete 10 days of initial training, followed by monthly online training, before gradually applying their skills to on-site work.
The background includes the low effective job-to-applicant ratio for general administrative positions and the shortage of personnel able to use digital technologies. Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare data show a low job-to-applicant ratio for general administrative positions, while an IPA survey found that 85.1% of companies reported a shortage of digital talent. Companies cite the difficulty of securing back-office personnel while placing importance on enabling trained personnel to remain active over the long term.
Going forward, the second cohort is expected to join in April 2028, with recruitment set to expand to around 100 people. デジたま also plans to strengthen the development of skills for building tools using generative AI and to expand its network of host companies in the Kansai region.
