NTN has announced plans to begin mass production in November of “SP―1” grease for use in machine-tool spindle bearings. The target dmN value, an indicator of the rotational performance of bearings filled with SP―1, has been set at 2.3 million.
SP―1 was developed as a dedicated grease for spindle bearings, and a mass-production system is being established with the aim of delivering high performance over the long term. The achievement of the dmN value has been reported as an indicator of improved bearing rotational performance.
