J Trust reported interim profit of more than ¥6.1 billion and operating profit of more than ¥7.2 billion for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026, both substantial increases. The full-year forecast remains unchanged, while the company has begun considering a spin-off separating its domestic and overseas businesses.
J Trust reported results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026, with profit for the interim period attributable to owners of the parent reaching ¥6.128 billion, up 340.9% year on year, and operating profit reaching ¥7.286 billion, up 59.1%. Progress against the full-year plan exceeded 75% after six months.
By business segment, the Japan Financial Business made a significant contribution, with operating revenue rising substantially to ¥10.777 billion and segment profit to ¥5.157 billion. President Nobuyoshi Fujisawa (藤澤信義) referred to a level of performance that could warrant an upward revision at the current pace, but the company decided not to revise its full-year forecast.
The biggest development was the start of consideration of a spin-off separating the domestic and overseas businesses. The company cited the large number of opinions expressed through its IR roadshow calling for greater concentration on the Japan Financial Business, and indicated that it would consider the reorganization from the perspectives of capital efficiency and profitability.
The company also announced shareholder returns comprising a special shareholder benefit equivalent to ¥10,000 in digital gift cards for shareholders holding 100 or more shares as of the end of August, together with a ¥2 billion share buyback. By segment, Southeast Asian financial services slowed, while Korean financial services recorded a substantial increase and the real estate business turned profitable.
