In the Tokyo stock market on the afternoon of the 16th, the Nikkei Stock Average was trading around ¥170 higher than the previous day, with buying prevailing after the afternoon session opened and driving gains wider. At 1:24 p.m., it reached ¥63,850.30, up ¥366.20, and continued to trade firmly thereafter.
The leading stocks by trading volume shortly after 2 p.m. included NTT, SoftBank Group, Sony Financial Group, SoftBank and TEPCO Holdings.
At the same time, the leading stocks by trading value included Kioxia, SoftBank Group, Taiyo Yuden, Advantest and Murata Manufacturing.
The dollar was trading at around ¥155.30.
