リョーサン菱洋ホールディングス has announced an initiative to support enhanced product security at Tokyo Electron and strengthen measures against cyber risks to semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Semiconductor manufacturing equipment is regarded as critical infrastructure directly linked to supply chain stability, and the need to prepare for cyberattacks has grown. Attacks targeting products are becoming increasingly sophisticated, raising concerns about impacts such as production-line stoppages and declining quality.
In response to Tokyo Electron's efforts to strengthen security, リョーサン菱洋 proposed solutions and maintenance suited to implementation, leading to their adoption. The design is intended to strengthen defenses while limiting the burden on equipment.
Specifically, there are plans to install a lightweight security solution designed to minimize the impact on equipment in some Tokyo Electron products. Regular update management, threat intelligence, and a rapid support system for problems will be provided.
Going forward, リョーサン菱洋 plans to expand similar security support to companies other than Tokyo Electron, presenting the initiative as a potential reference for the introduction of security measures in Japan's manufacturing sector.
