Meta and EssilorLuxottica have launched the new AI glasses “Meta Glasses” in Japan, with a total of 26 styles available. Prices start at ¥56,000 including tax, and prescription lenses are supported.
The 3 frame designs—“Meta Adventurer,” “Meta Fury” and “Meta Glasses by Kylie”—can be combined with colors such as Classic Black and Tortoise, as well as sunglass, Transitions, polarized and clear lenses, for a total of 26 combinations.
The glasses feature overextension hinges, adjustable nose pads and temple tips, and offer more than 8 hours of battery life, with the folding charging case providing up to 40 additional hours. AI features include access to Meta AI, assignment of favorite functions, hands-free photography, open-ear audio and a multi-microphone array with wind-noise reduction. The front-facing capture LED indicates when recording is in progress and cannot be turned off.
Sales will begin on 26 August through Meta.com and authorized retailers. In Japan, sales of Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta began in May this year. Additional features are also planned through future software updates.
