Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings has entered into an information-sharing agreement with U.S. nuclear operator PSEG Nuclear, promoting information sharing in areas including periodic inspection processes, quality control, work safety and radiation control.
Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO Holdings) has entered into an information-sharing agreement in the nuclear energy sector with U.S. nuclear power operator PSEG Nuclear. The companies had already built a relationship through site visits and exchanges of views, but the agreement will enable TEPCO Holdings to gain practical, hands-on knowledge of periodic inspection processes and quality control methods.
Information sharing is expected to advance in areas including identifying leading practices in work safety and radiation control, collecting examples of the digital use of operations and maintenance data, and understanding regulatory responses and safety culture in the United States.
TEPCO Holdings has stated that it will use knowledge gained overseas to improve the safety and reliability of its nuclear power plants.
