Digital Garage’s Japan operations have begun rolling out DGFT Invoice Card Payment jointly with WIREBASE for the construction industry. The service will provide card payment options to construction companies that are WIREBASE customers, supporting improvements in cash flow.
The construction industry is facing pressure on profitability from higher material prices and labour costs, as well as cash-flow challenges arising from payments for materials and other costs before construction fees are collected. The background to the initiative also includes the need for stricter payment practices for subcontractors and more stringent compliance measures.
The collaboration was pursued by WIREBASE, which supports operational efficiency through services including the “Myaku-Raku” business platform, and Digital Garage, which supports cash flow through B2B payments, with the aim of addressing the construction industry’s management challenges from both sides.
The collaboration includes the launch of DGFT Invoice Card Payment for construction companies that are WIREBASE customers. This adds card payments as an option while maintaining the predominantly bank-transfer-based payment practices, with the aim of improving cash flow and operational efficiency.
DGFT Invoice Card Payment enables payments of invoices that do not accept card payments to be switched to card payments, effectively deferring the payment due date. It supports more card brands than any other service in Japan, including Diners Club and several other brands.
