The Tanigawadake Ropeway was renamed Tanigawadake Yoch by Hoshino Resorts. Following the acquisition, its brand strategy changed, with the company aiming to attract visitors throughout the four seasons.
The Tanigawadake Ropeway is located at the trailhead of Mount Tanigawa in Minakami, Gunma Prefecture, and has long been known by that name. It is now being presented under its renamed title, Tanigawadake Yoch by Hoshino Resorts. The change in its designation as a tourist attraction followed Hoshino Resorts' acquisition.
In March 2022, Hoshino Resorts acquired the company operating the Tanigawadake Ropeway from 東武興業. In December 2024, it was officially renamed Tanigawake Yoch by Hoshino Resorts, with the stated aim of increasing visitor numbers in spring, summer and autumn and reducing winter losses. Yoch means a mountain saddle and is intended to attract casual hikers.
The ropeway is approximately 2,400 m long, spans an elevation difference of 573 m and takes approximately 15 minutes. It connects Doai-guchi Station and Tenjindaira Station and can carry up to 22 passengers. Fares are ¥3,600 for an adult round-trip ticket and ¥3,000 for an adult ropeway-only round-trip ticket.
