Luffu, founded by Fitbit founders James Park (ジェームズ・パーク) and Eric Friedman (エリック・フリードマン), has unveiled Luffu Link, an LTE-enabled health and safety band. The screen-free device is designed to support family care, and was reported as having been announced locally on 25 August 2026.
Luffu Link’s key feature is its voice-logging function, activated by pressing a button. Users can record information about medication management, meals, symptoms and mood by voice, which is then synchronized with the Luffu app and incorporated by AI into the broader context of the family. The design emphasizes reducing the burden on caregivers rather than adding more dashboards for their own sake.
The safety features use LTE and GPS to share location information and health data with registered family members. Pressing the button twice allows users to signal “I’m okay” without making a call or sending a message, while emergency notifications are sent to pre-registered contacts. The product explicitly does not support emergency services such as 911.
Luffu Link’s sales terms reflect its screen-free design. The pre-order price is $249.99, and shipping is scheduled for early 2027. The regular price is $299.99, while the required Family Plan subscription costs $19.99 per month for up to 4 people or $29.99 per month for up to 8 people.
