An event bringing together Legacy models from the first generation through the final model was held in the car park at Fuji Turnpike Hakone. A Group A machine was also exhibited, and owners enjoyed talking with one another.
On 3 October 2026, the first Legacy Fuji Turnpike Meeting was held at the Daikanzan car park on Anest Iwata Hakone Turnpike. Owners of Legacy models from every generation gathered in response to a call on social media, with 67 vehicles taking part. Every model and body type sold in Japan, from the first generation to the final model, was represented, and owners ranging from veterans to younger enthusiasts enjoyed discussing the cars.
With the cooperation of Subaru collector BOXER, a genuine Group A Legacy RS was exhibited at the venue, allowing visitors to photograph valuable details such as the interior and engine up close. A talk show was held during the latter half of the event, providing an opportunity for people familiar with successive Legacy generations and new fans to exchange information.
Looking back at the Legacy generations by model, the first generation was launched in 1989 with an EJ-series horizontally opposed engine; the second generation was launched in 1993, retaining the 5-number vehicle size classification while introducing high-output models; and the Outback was launched in North America in 1995. The third generation centred on four-wheel-drive vehicles, the fourth moved into the 3-number size classification and introduced EyeSight, the fifth introduced Lineartronic, and the sixth discontinued the Touring Wagon and focused on the Outback.
