The first paragraph reports that Citizen Watch has revised upward its full-year earnings forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027, raising revenue from ¥362 billion to ¥395 billion, operating profit from ¥34.5 billion to ¥40.5 billion, and net income from ¥27.5 billion to ¥32 billion. The dividend forecast was also raised to an annual ¥53 per share, comprising ¥26.50 per share for the interim and year-end dividends.
The company cited the strong first-quarter performance, continued firm sales of the Citizen and Bulova brands, particularly in North America, robust demand related to semiconductors in the machine tools business, and a recovery in capital investment demand across a broad range of industries as factors behind the upward revision. Sales of core products in the devices business, including photo printers, were also described as firm. The revised foreign-exchange assumptions, from ¥150 to ¥155 per US dollar and from ¥175 to ¥180 per euro, are also expected to contribute.
First-quarter results for April to June showed revenue of ¥98.129 billion, up 30.3% year on year; operating profit of ¥9.913 billion, 2.1 times the year-earlier level; and net income of ¥8.921 billion, down 2.9% year on year.
