Additional configuration for the HKS Flash Editor for the ZN8 GR86/ZD8 BRZ has been released. The features focus on reflashing ECU data via OBDⅡ, with Phase 1 to Phase 3 presets and support for custom tuning on the vehicle explained.
The ZN8 GR86/ZD8 BRZ has the Mastery ECU for rewriting the factory ECU, and the Flash Editor was launched to support it.
The Flash Editor reflashes ECU data through the OBDⅡ connector and comes with 3 preset data sets at shipment. Phase 1 cuts the speed limiter, Phase 2 edits maps for valve timing, fuel, ignition and throttle, among other systems, to increase power, and Phase 3 is for installing a forced-induction kit, with a choice between the GTⅢ-RS bolt-on turbo kit and the GT2 supercharger kit.
The maps are configured for a turbo specification with standard boost of 0.65kg per square centimetre, while the supercharger setting assumes installation of a φ43 restrictor. They support intake and exhaust tuning based on HKS parts such as the Cold Air Intake Kit and the High Power SPEC series.
HKS Power Writer dealers can also edit original data and perform custom tuning on the vehicle, allowing fine adjustments to meet on-site requirements.
