Japan Display (JDI) announced its consolidated results for April-June 2026, reporting a net loss of ¥3.4 billion and revenue of ¥23.9 billion. The company reported a loss of ¥20.2 billion in the same period a year earlier, indicating progress in improving its earnings structure. Negative net worth was eliminated as of the end of June, leaving net assets positive at ¥3.6 billion.
Revenue decreased 26% from the same quarter a year earlier. The decline was attributed mainly to the end of smartphone liquid-crystal panel production at the Mobara Plant in Mobara, Chiba Prefecture, the company’s flagship plant.
As part of efforts to strengthen its financial base, negotiations are under way to sell the Mobara Plant, with due diligence being conducted repeatedly with multiple prospective buyers, President Jun Akima (明間 純) said at the earnings briefing. Consideration of the sale is progressing.
As part of its capital strengthening measures, the exercise of stock acquisition rights by parent company Ichigo Trust has progressed, raising a total of ¥17.3 billion to date.
