MUJI will launch its “Personal Sofa with Room to Sit Comfortably” nationwide in stores and online from 7 October 2026. Compression-packed for easy transport, the sofa has a machine-washable cover, with 6 separately sold cover colors available.
Ryohin Keikaku, which operates MUJI, will launch its “Personal Sofa with Room to Sit Comfortably,” combining a relaxed, comfortable seating experience with a compact design that is easy to incorporate into the home. Against a backdrop of increasingly compact housing, the product is intended to meet demand for a personal space to spend time alone. Its gently curved seat and backrest provide a stable seating experience.
The sofa is made entirely of polyurethane foam and uses a single-material design without a frame. This enables compression packaging, making it easy to take home without having to worry about the route to the room where it will be installed.
The cover can be removed and washed, and 6 separately sold cover colors are available. Woven fabric is used for greige, mustard and green, while off-white, brown and charcoal gray use boa fabric.
The lineup consists of the sofa and covers. The sofa is priced at ¥17,900 including tax, and the cover at ¥7,000 including tax. Sales will begin on 7 October (Wednesday) at stores nationwide and through the online store.
