BuySell Technologies, a major reuse company, announced that it will acquire HKSビクトリージャパン, which operates used-goods purchasing stores. The acquisition price is ¥500 million, and procedures to purchase all shares are expected to proceed.
Established in 2015, HKS operates 20 stores under the “Tokyo Market” brand, primarily in Kagoshima Prefecture as well as elsewhere in Kyushu and the Kanto region. The acquisition is believed to include the company’s store network and business.
In connection with the acquisition, BuySell has indicated that it will expand its purchasing channels through store operations and home-visit purchasing, while strengthening its own auctions and business-to-business transactions.
BuySell has previously made acquisitions to expand into regional markets, and this transaction is positioned as part of its regional dominance strategy.
