The Kanto Branch of the Transmission Line Construction Technology Study Group opened to visitors a temporary steel-pole construction site intended to secure a detour route around a transmission tower damaged in a disaster. Participants observed the temporary steel-pole construction firsthand and gained an understanding of the procedures and points requiring attention.
Temporary steel poles are used to establish detour routes during disasters, but construction opportunities have declined in recent years, creating challenges in passing on technical skills. The site tour reaffirmed the importance of sharing field expertise and developing the next generation of workers.
The branch plans to conduct practical training in temporary steel-pole construction and is expected to advance efforts to strengthen the transfer of skills in the field.
