Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company changed its full-year forecasts upward after reporting interim results, and ordinary profit is expected to exceed ¥20 billion. The latest outlook calls for higher operating revenue and profit, and the company may become the first company in Okinawa to reach that level.
Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company (President Miyakura Yasuaki (宮倉康彰)) announced its consolidated interim results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, reporting operating revenue of ¥45.354 billion, ordinary profit of ¥12.271 billion and net profit of ¥8.252 billion. Revenue and profit increased year on year.
Factors behind the increase in revenue included growth in mobile communications revenue and handset sales, a one-off decline in communications equipment usage fees resulting from settlements with other operators, and an increase in usage-based roaming revenue accompanying the expansion of the 5G service area.
Reflecting higher revenue, the company revised its full-year forecasts upward to operating revenue of ¥93 billion, ordinary profit of ¥21.15 billion and net profit of ¥14.25 billion. According to Okinawa Cellular, if ordinary profit exceeds ¥20 billion, it will be the first company in Okinawa to achieve this level.
