A co-hosted webinar by HIOKI E.E.CORPORATION and 福田交易株式会社 is scheduled to explain the mechanism behind electrical erosion, a cause of bearing failure, and countermeasures for use in the field. The online event is scheduled for Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
The co-hosted webinar by HIOKI E.E.CORPORATION and 福田交易株式会社, “Approaches to and Proposals for Evaluating and Addressing ‘Electrical Erosion,’ a Cause of Bearing Failure,” will be held in Zoom webinar format on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The webinar is scheduled to provide a clear explanation of the mechanism behind electrical erosion, which is attracting attention as a cause of bearing failure, its relationship with shaft voltage and discharge, measurement methods used in the field, and key points for addressing the issue. The seminar will be offered free of charge, with registration available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Part 1 will cover protecting bearings from electrical erosion, including the mechanism of shaft voltage, the importance of lubrication, and the role of the Aegis Ring grounding ring. Part 2 will present examples of applying shaft-voltage measurement and waveform calculations to inverter-driven motors, covering measurement methods, actual measurement examples, and the evaluation of discharge waveforms.
The event details are as follows: 14 October 2026, 14:00–15:00; capacity of 100 participants; no participation fee. The webinar will be held via Zoom, and on-demand video viewing will be available later for those unable to attend on the day. Registration is scheduled to close once the first-come, first-served capacity is reached, and applications from competing companies may be declined.
