The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will hold a signing ceremony on 25 September for a memorandum of cooperation with the Singapore Government on climate science and climate adaptation. Several companies, including the Japanese companies Kajima Corporation and SHIMIZU CORPORATION, are expected to attend the meeting.
Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that it will hold a signing ceremony on 25 September for a memorandum of cooperation with the Singapore Government on Singapore-related climate science and climate adaptation. The initiative follows the emphasis placed on the importance of climate adaptation in a joint document issued after a Japan-Singapore leaders' meeting, and the ministry is working with Singapore's Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment to renew the memorandum. The announcement also aims to deepen public-private cooperation.
The ceremony will renew the memorandum signed in 2023 and serve as a forum for sharing specific directions for future cooperation. The plans also include jointly holding a high-level public-private dialogue with the ministry and Singapore's Enterprise Singapore (ESG) on issues including measures to address sea-level rise.
