This article describes the process of supporting the son's independent learning through parental involvement and task management using the KPT approach after he began attending 早稲田アカデミー to prepare for middle school entrance exams, as well as the cram school's response to possible cheating during class.
The son began attending 早稲田アカデミー in the winter of his third year of elementary school. Although his preparation was initially unfocused, his performance improved in the fourth grade, moving him from Class A to Class SS, and he and his parent Hana (花) began considering their cram school options. He ultimately cited the principal's clear explanations as the reason he himself chose 早稲アカ. After trying several cram schools, he began preparations in earnest for his first-choice school.
However, toward the end of the fourth grade, suspicions arose that the son had cheated by copying the answers to his mathematics homework while Hana (花) was keeping her distance. Hana (花) contacted the cram school, which held a one-on-one discussion with the science teacher and a meeting with the principal. The cram school explained that there had been no cheating and followed up on its future teaching policy. The child himself also said that he had regained an understanding of the meaning of studying.
