DHL will build a new logistics warehouse for the semiconductor industry in Dholera, Gujarat, western India. DHL, a major German logistics company, has announced plans to build a logistics warehouse for the semiconductor industry in Dholera, Gujarat, western India. The initial investment will be approximately 500 million rupees, and the site will cover up to 40,000 square metres. Operations are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.
Tata Electronics, a Tata Group company, is currently building a front-end semiconductor plant near Dholera. DHL expects semiconductor-related activity to concentrate in the area in the future and anticipates growing demand for logistics services. The company plans to strengthen storage and logistics services for semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers by drawing on its international expertise and business base in India.
The company is strengthening its logistics network in major cities including Bengaluru in the south, Sanand in the west, Bhubaneswar in the east and Noida in the north. At its existing facilities, it stores and manages the logistics of manufacturing equipment and raw materials, while also introducing vehicles and suspension systems suited to semiconductor handling.
The construction of the Dholera warehouse is part of a major investment plan in India announced by the DHL Group last year. Against the backdrop of the local semiconductor industry promotion initiative “Semicon 2.0,” efforts to strengthen semiconductor-related logistics infrastructure are gaining momentum.
