FP Corporation and HalloDay Holdings announced an initiative to promote the horizontal recycling of food trays across all 55 stores. The companies will establish a closed-loop process in which collected trays are recycled into new trays and recycled products are reused in stores.
FP Corporation, working with HalloDay Holdings, announced its Eco-Store Collaboration Declaration to promote the horizontal recycling of used food trays. The initiative covers all 55 stores operated by HalloDay. FP Corporation will recycle trays collected in collection boxes at the stores and establish a system for recycled eco-products to be used again at the stores.
The initiative's distinguishing feature is the creation of a closed loop linking the recycling of collected trays with the use of the recycled products in stores. Consumers bring trays to the stores, FP Corporation processes them into recycled products, and the products are supplied to HalloDay's sales areas.
HalloDay actively uses eco-trays and other products in its stores, reducing CO2 emissions by 284 tonnes in the fiscal year ending March 2026. This is equivalent to the CO2 emissions associated with producing approximately 9.17 million plastic shopping bags. HalloDay will continue to strengthen communications at its stores and promote the collection of used trays as a resource. It also aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 300 tonnes annually in the fiscal year ending March 2028.
