km5 announced Sp1 and Mp1 at STEREO in Shibuya. Sp1 is a slim Bluetooth speaker and Mp1 is a Bluetooth mixer, offering a new combination for enjoying CDs more freely.
Japanese audio brand km5 announced its 2 products, the slim wireless speaker Sp1 and stereo mixer Mp1, at the music bar STEREO in Shibuya. The launch event featured music producer/DJ tofubeats and model/DJ Yuka Mizuhara (水原 佑果), who discussed ways to use the products and the appeal of physical media.
Sp1 is a slim Bluetooth speaker that supports wall mounting while sharing the same dimensions as Cp1. It is equipped with two 45mm full-range drivers and two passive radiators. In addition to Bluetooth playback, it supports FM radio and Micro SD playback, with compatible formats including mp3, FLAC, WMA, WAV, AAC and APE. Its built-in 5,000mAh battery provides approximately 12 hours of playback, and 2 Sp1 units can be used for stereo playback.
Mp1 is a stereo mixer with 2 Bluetooth inputs and 1 output. It has the same dimensions as Cp1, and combining it with 2 Cp1 units enables casual DJ-style use. It can mix audio via wireless Bluetooth transmission, with one envisaged setup sending audio from 2 Cp1 units to Mp1 and wirelessly transmitting it from Mp1 to Sp1. It can also connect to smartphones, PCs and other devices, and is equipped with filter and loop functions.
A wide range of uses is envisaged, including combining CDs with streaming sources and mixing audio from different devices. The talk show also touched on the importance of listening to an album from beginning to end and the connection between memories and media, while indicating an intention to expand the lineup toward 2027.
