Free smartphone classes offering careful instruction on how to use a smartphone will be held at multiple locations in Hiroshima. There will be 4 sessions per day, with 3 places available per session, and advance reservations are required.
The smartphone classes are also open to people who do not own a smartphone. The “Smartphone All-Purpose Support Bus” will travel to locations people regularly visit to hold the classes. Dates and locations have been set at multiple venues, including the Nukushina Community Centre car park, the car park in front of Hiroshima City Hall’s main building, and the Itsukaichi-so, Rarakuso, Yahata-so and Madayama-so senior citizens’ recreation centres.
The schedule and content vary by date, with 4 classes offered each day. At the Nukushina Community Centre, the programme includes Android basics and security, while the sessions in front of Hiroshima City Hall include Android basics, LINE, generative AI and smartphone payments. At some venues, participants are required to bring their own smartphone for certain classes.
Advance reservations are required at each venue, with places allocated to the first 3 applicants. Reception hours and contact details are provided separately for each venue. As places in each class are limited, early registration is recommended for popular classes.
