BMW has officially confirmed that the new X5 will be equipped with a V8 engine. New M Performance parts for the X5 and iX5 were announced alongside it.
The new V8 model is expected to join the regular X5 lineup, and some reports suggest that it will be a derivative of the regular X5 series rather than the X5 M. On the exterior, it will feature M Performance parts at the front and rear, including carbon components, spoilers and a diffuser.
Parts featuring carbon-fiber end-pipe covers are planned for the V8 model’s exhaust system, although the system may not be sold in Europe.
Other M Performance parts for the X5 and iX5 will be available across the entire range, with items such as mirror caps and a rear diffuser also expected to be offered in carbon-look aramid material. The launch timing and pricing have not yet been announced.
There are also rumors that the new V8 model could be introduced as the “M60,” although concerns have been raised that it could be confused with the existing 612-hp M60e.
