Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 FE and provided an opportunity to try the actual device at IFA in Germany. Local prices are €799 for 128GB, €899 for 256GB and €1,099 for 512GB, while a launch in the Japanese market remains undecided.
Samsung Electronics announced the new Galaxy S26 series model, the Galaxy S26 FE, with global sales beginning on 4 September. Attendees could try the actual device at a private event held alongside IFA, the consumer electronics trade show in Berlin, Germany, and the product is presented here in a report from the venue.
The device features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by the Exynos 2500 processor. Memory is 12GB, with 3 storage options: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The device measures 161.6×76.9×7.4mm, weighs 193g, has a 4900mAh battery and supports 45W charging.
Compared with the higher-end S26 and S26+, the S26 FE differs in using the one-generation-old Exynos 2500 chip. Its camera setup is in the 48–50MP range, a design choice that highlights the gap with the higher-end models. Electronics retailer SATURN in Germany had displays allowing visitors to handle the actual device even before its launch, and some stores had the S26 Ultra, S26 and S26 FE displayed together.
Local prices are €799 for 128GB, €899 for 256GB and €1,099 for 512GB. Based on the euro-yen exchange rate as of 9 September, these work out to approximately ¥143,000, ¥161,000 and ¥197,000, respectively, while conversion based on US pricing puts the figure at around ¥110,000. Meanwhile, the timing of a launch in Japan has not been announced, and it has been suggested that price increases may be unavoidable because of exchange rates and component costs.
