On 2 July 2026, MCP Group and Sawayama Group established an equally funded joint venture, with the aim of building an investment and business development platform linking Japan with global markets. The venture will begin by supporting Waqua's business as its first project.
MCP Group and Sawayama Group announced that they had established an equally funded joint-stock company. The two groups aim to build a comprehensive investment and business development platform linking Japan with global markets, and said they will strengthen efforts to bring Japanese technologies to overseas markets while introducing innovative technologies from overseas to the Japanese market.
The joint venture will be named MCP & Sawayama 株式会社. Its head office is in Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, and it was established on 2 July 2026. MCPジャパン・ホールディングス株式会社 and Sawayama Seiichiro (澤山精一郎) each hold a 50% ownership interest, with equal voting rights. The company is expected to be jointly managed by representatives of the two groups. As its first project, it will support Waqua's related businesses.
The support for Waqua's business will focus on technologies that use portable water purification systems to enable a stable supply of drinking water in emergency and disaster areas, construction sites, post-disaster recovery areas and other locations. Going forward, the venture plans to promote business development across a broad range of fields, including infrastructure, energy, healthcare and technology, and to support the expansion of Japanese companies' technologies and services into overseas markets.
