Potato chips made with Black Satsuma Chicken at Calbee's Kagoshima Factory in Kagoshima City went back on sale, and a departure ceremony for a wrapped streetcar was held on the 5th. The vehicle features illustrations of Saigo Takamori and Sakurajima, along with Kagoshima dialect.
Kyushu Ajijiman Mild Soy Sauce Flavor potato chips made with Black Satsuma Chicken from Kagoshima Prefecture were launched last April as a limited-time product for 6 months and were well received, so sales resumed on 5 October.
The product is manufactured at Calbee's Kagoshima Factory in Kagoshima City. To promote the relaunch, company representatives visited the prefectural government office and briefed Governor Shiota.
The wrapped streetcar, including the departure ceremony, features illustrations of Saigo Takamori and Sakurajima on its body and is scheduled to operate through April next year as part of tourism promotion efforts.
Calbee's executive vice president said the initiative would provide an opportunity to raise awareness that the company has a factory in Kagoshima, emphasizing cooperation with the local community.
