WIT STUDIO was established in 2012 and is now in its 15th year. Its history and future outlook are examined through interviews with Representative Director Wada Joji (和田丈嗣) and others. The focus is on the circumstances of its establishment and independence, the expansion of its major productions and its future policies.
WIT STUDIO was established in 2012 with Production I.G staff at its core and subsequently became an independent subsidiary. At its launch, the studio set out a policy of expanding its organization on the basis of digitalization and talent development, contrasting this with the era of pen and paper.
The TV anime "Attack on Titan" emerged as a lead production among the studio's early major works. Its high-quality visual expression was highly regarded in Japan and overseas, spreading the studio's name around the world.
The studio subsequently released a succession of adaptations and original productions, including "Ranking of Kings" and "SPY x FAMILY," growing into one of Japan's leading studios.
Wada (和田丈嗣) continues to maintain a commitment to prioritizing production quality and emphasizes long-term organizational management, including the development of younger staff. The studio has indicated a policy of continuing to release productions across a broad range of genres.
