J. Front Retailing announced its interim results for the fiscal year ending February 2027. Total sales for March through August rose 2.5% year on year, while revenue and each profit measure declined. The department store and shopping centre businesses performed well, but the impact of restrained selling, general and administrative expenses limited growth at the profit level.
According to J. Front Retailing's interim results for the fiscal year ending February 2027, covering March through August, total sales were ¥638.2 billion, up 2.5% year on year; revenue was ¥213.821 billion, down 2.8%; business profit was ¥26.591 billion, down 5.6%; operating profit was ¥26.813 billion, down 10.5%; and interim profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥17.379 billion, down 5.3%.
The department store and shopping centre businesses secured higher revenue and performed well, while operating profit declined due to the renovation of the Umeda store and the drop in sales related to the Expo. It is notable that results exceeded the April forecast, due to restrained selling, general and administrative expenses and the impact of timing differences.
