Used-car seller BUDDICA and 日本エネルギー総合システム are launching BUDDICA GRID based on a business partnership, commencing a residential energy business centered on vehicle-to-home (V2H) systems. The service will be available nationwide, with some exclusions, and will provide solar power, heat-pump water heaters and EVs through a single point of contact.
BUDDICA announced plans to launch its residential energy business, BUDDICA GRID, on 17 August, based on a business partnership with 日本エネルギー総合システム. The companies are considering establishing a joint venture and will combine their expertise in vehicles and energy to build an operating structure.
BUDDICA GRID is centered on V2H systems and allows customers to install EVs, heat-pump water heaters and solar power systems through a single point of contact. For households that already have solar power generation or a heat-pump water heater, the service will offer an option for reducing electricity costs and preparing for disasters while keeping investment down.
The service will focus primarily on detached houses and propose additional V2H installation depending on whether the customer has an EV. It will also support subsidy applications, with plans to make use of the national V2H subsidy of up to ¥1.3 million, for which applications are accepted from 17 July to 30 September 2026. The companies will also provide information on using local government subsidy programs.
Under the planned division of responsibilities, BUDDICA will handle the evaluation and procurement of used EVs, while 日本エネルギー総合システム will be responsible for installation, subsidy applications and electricity brokerage. The companies are also considering electricity contract brokerage in the future and aim to expand nationwide.
