Total crowdfunding backer purchases exceeded ¥100 million, and HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S won a Good Design Award. General sales begin on 16 October at ¥32,780, including tax.
Crowdfunding backer purchases for the product were accepted on the Makuake crowdfunding platform from 30 July this year, reaching a reported total of ¥101,644,500 from 3,970 backers.
The new ear-cuff flagship model, “HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S,” features a charging case with a mirror finish. The earbuds have a symmetrical design, eliminating the need to distinguish left from right when putting them on.
The product's features include a C-bridge design, a structure using a fibrous shape-memory alloy, a lightweight design weighing approximately 5.1 g, 360° spatial audio, an AI assistant activation function, fall detection and multipoint connectivity.
It also incorporates multiple technologies intended to improve sound quality, calls and convenience, including call noise reduction, a reverse sound wave system, an open design that allows ambient sound in while reducing sound leakage, and adaptive volume control.
3 products in the HUAWEI FreeClip series, including this product, won Good Design Awards. As part of its future rollout, general sales will begin, with the products available from consumer electronics retailers and online stores.
