On 29 June 2024, the Musashino Bank Head Office’s 2nd Floor Regional Revitalization Space in Saitama hosted a children’s cafeteria and eco-materials workshop organized by the Musashino Mirai Academy. Through lectures, participating parents and children learned about the importance of money and work and took part in hands-on activities using eco-friendly materials.
An event organized by the Musashino Mirai Academy was held at “M’s SQUARE,” the Regional Revitalization Space at the Musashino Bank Head Office. The event, titled “Children’s Cafeteria and Eco-Materials Workshop,” was attended by approximately 50 people from 20 parent-child groups.
The lecture included time to learn about resource recycling, and the children showed an interest in eco-friendly tableware made from a special film that requires no rinsing. After the lecture, an eco-materials workshop led by the造形作家 Marubayashi Sawako (まるばやしさわこ) was held, where participants created works modeled on boxed lunches using plastic bottle caps, tissues and other materials.
For lunch, roast chicken rice bowls and egg soup provided by the Saitama City Children’s Cafeteria Network were served, and the participants’ lively voices and smiles filled the venue.
After the event, the children and adult participants shared comments such as, “It was fun,” and “Making things with familiar materials helps us understand environmental issues.”
