Trading in all Japanese stocks and ETFs was halted at PayPay Securities, a securities company serving smartphone users, after a disruption occurred at an external connection provider. The disruption reportedly occurred from 10:15 a.m. on the 13th, and the securities company is working to restore service.
After the disruption occurred, order acceptance temporarily resumed for about one hour from around 11:30 a.m., but was subsequently halted again. Acceptance of advance orders for the 14th has also been halted, and there is no timetable for recovery.
The company said there had been no impact on other transactions, including US stocks and investment trusts, and that PayPay Securities was not the victim of unauthorised access.
