IMSA and the SRO Motorsports Group officially announced the cancellation of the BoP (Balance of Performance) test for GT3 cars that had been scheduled to take place at Daytona International Speedway. The stated reason for the cancellation was the potential for unexpected significant costs to arise after extensive discussions with the manufacturers.
The BoP test had been planned as a 2-day test hosted by IMSA for all teams in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and was scheduled to take place from 12 to 13 December. It was to use a protocol similar to the BoP test that SRO conducts annually at Paul Ricard, with dedicated test drivers scheduled to drive each GT3 car.
