Nitto Boseki President Hayashi Hisanobu (林寿信) said demand is growing for glass cloth used as a semiconductor substrate material in AI data centers, and that supply of T-glass, a particularly high-performance product, is unable to keep pace.
Nitto Boseki produces glass cloth used as a substrate material for advanced semiconductors and holds a near-monopoly share globally due to its low thermal expansion. The company explained that demand for AI data centers is increasing and that supply and demand are tight.
President Hayashi Hisanobu (林寿信) said demand for T-glass, a high-performance type of glass cloth made by forming glass fibers into fabric, was so strong that supply could not keep pace. He also indicated that production facilities were operating at full capacity.
