Panasonic announced new Eolia room air conditioners and expanded its lineup of models compliant with new energy-efficiency standards that will be tightened in April 2027. 3 of the 6 series will comply with the new standards, and most of the products are expected to meet the requirements.
5 series, including the flagship model, will go on sale early on 21 January 2027, while the mid-priced series is scheduled to launch on 22 February of the same year. The prices of the new products have not been disclosed, but price increases of approximately ¥30,000–¥50,000 are expected for some series compliant with the new standards. The flagship model, by contrast, is expected to remain in the same price range as the previous year.
The new products feature improved compressor controls to increase energy efficiency and enable their use during heating as well as conventional cooling. The flagship model for rooms of up to 12 tatami mats is described as having industry-leading energy efficiency. In addition, the products are equipped with the latest version of Panasonic's proprietary fine-particle ion technology, nanoe X, and add controls enabling the internal cleaning function to operate while the unit is running.
Panasonic expects a reactionary decline in demand following advance purchases, but has set an annual sales target of 200,000 units, in line with the previous year. The Eolia brand logo has been refreshed to coincide with the air-conditioning business's 70th anniversary in 2027.
