On 20 August, relevant agencies led by the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with Japan's 浜田製作所 on the pilot introduction of recycled solar panels in Vietnam. The meeting confirmed the pilot plan's approximately 25 kW total generation capacity and its policy on compliance with local laws and regulations.
The Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs in northern Vietnam held a meeting with relevant city authorities on initiatives in the environmental and recycling sectors in cooperation with 浜田製作所 (Japan). Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Science and Technology, among others, attended the meeting alongside representatives of 浜田製作所.
浜田製作所 focuses on the reuse and recycling of used solar panels and proposed a pilot introduction of a recycled solar power generation system in Vietnam. The plan envisages total generation capacity of approximately 25 kW and will assess the feasibility of import procedures, technical feasibility, safety, delivery time and cost-effectiveness.
The city's relevant agencies presented regulations governing the import and use of used solar panels in Vietnam to HAMADA and provided guidance, while asking the company to coordinate an implementation plan for compliance with local laws and regulations. 浜田製作所 stated its intention to expand its business and build cooperative relationships in the environmental and resource reuse sectors, and plans to hold a workshop in Hanoi by the end of the year.
The deputy director of the Department of Foreign Affairs praised the experience of Japanese companies and proposed that 浜田製作所 consider Hai Phong as a candidate location for investment and cooperation, with a view to expanding opportunities for collaboration with Vietnamese partners. The meeting was viewed as contributing to 浜田製作所's understanding of Vietnam's laws and regulations and to stronger cooperation between Japan and Vietnam.
