Personal information may have been exposed in 69 Web lodging reservations at Ota City-run Izu Kogen Gakuen. Reports indicate that suspicious emails were received and that the “TEMAIRAZU” reservation management platform was accessed without authorization.
The Tokyo metropolitan ward of Ota disclosed on 9 October 2026 that a third party may have viewed or obtained information from 69 Web lodging reservations at the municipal Izu Kogen Gakuen. After receiving a report that suspicious emails containing reservation information had been received, the ward checked with the provider of the reservation management system and determined that unauthorized access may have occurred.
The unauthorized access is believed to have begun late at night on 21 September, and had also been confirmed at other lodging facilities using the same system. PFI Co., Ltd., which operates Izu Kogen Gakuen, said that the provider, 手間いらず, had published an investigation report and that some service functions had experienced security issues in the past.
The affected data comprised 69 Web reservations made from 23 August to 21 September. The information may have been viewed or obtained by a third party, including names, telephone numbers, email addresses, lodging facility names, check-in dates, check-out dates and lodging fees. Credit card numbers and reservation-site login information were not affected.
People have been urged to contact the official help desk directly, as the suspicious emails may have purported to request confirmation of reservation details or the entry of card information. Guidance also calls for lodging reservations to be made through the proper procedures and for anyone who entered information on a fraudulent website to contact their card company. Ota Ward said it would notify affected individuals individually and take steps to prevent a recurrence.
