Hankyu Hanshin Holdings announced its withdrawal from the international transportation business. Hankyu Hanshin Holdings owns 66% of HEX and Seino Holdings owns 34%; Hankyu Hanshin Holdings plans to first acquire Seino Holdings' stake and then sell HEX to Mitsubishi Logistics for ¥120.11 billion between January and March 2027. The company explained that the withdrawal is intended to direct resources toward integrated development centered on Umeda.
The international transportation business accounts for just under 9% of revenue and just under 2% on an operating-profit basis. The company indicated that its medium-term management plan leaves limited capacity for investment in this area. It said this will enable it to optimize the allocation of management resources to achieve its long-term management vision.
