Bengo4.com described its efforts to build an organisation that emphasises the coexistence of highly specialised lawyers and the technology field, and outlined a policy of maintaining a “brackish-water zone” of differing values by developing talent to support growth and creating opportunities for dialogue.
The company has expanded its business by combining the professional and technology fields, and CHO and Head of the Human Resources Division Kito Nobuaki (鬼頭 伸彰) discussed how to build an organisation that supports business growth.
Kito (鬼頭 伸彰) used the metaphor of a “brackish-water zone” as a boundary between different worlds, pointing to both the challenges and potential of incorporating an engineering perspective while gaining a deep understanding of specialised expertise.
He said that, as the organisation grows, it is important to intentionally create cross-functional communities, opportunities for dialogue and training in order to preserve the differing values of lawyers and engineers while generating new value.
