On the 1st, the Memuro Sugar Factory changed its company name to Nitten. The factory then began full-scale processing of this year's sugar beets.
Through May next year, the factory plans to operate around the clock, producing commercial granulated sugar and other products.
This move is believed to be part of the restructuring of the beet sugar industry and the strengthening of production capacity in the Tokachi region.
