Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment signed a business agreement with Sejong Special Self-Governing City and the Korea District Heating Corporation. The agreement aims to promote the use of previously unused energy at wastewater treatment facilities.
The facility covered is Sejong Water Quality Restoration Center A in Sejong City. The initiative aims to build an energy self-sufficiency base by using sewage heat and biogas that have not previously been fully utilised. Their use is expected to increase the facility’s energy self-sufficiency.
The initiative is intended to expand the effective use of waste-derived energy in the region and could become a new model for using previously unused energy.
