On 25 August, Renault unveiled the new 5 E-Tech Electric. The new model features an extended driving range, additional colours and improved functionality, with the introduction of new features planned within the next few weeks. It will also be displayed at the Paris Motor Show, held from 12 to 18 October 2026.
For the new grades and powertrains, Renault has improved aerodynamic performance and optimised battery control, adopting a 90kW motor with a 40kWh Urban Range battery and a 110kW motor with a 52kWh Comfort Range battery. WLTP range has been extended to 315km and 430km, respectively. The entry-level Five trim is equipped with an 80kW motor and a 36.5kWh LFP battery, with a WLTP range of 305km and a target 0-50km/h time of 3.5 seconds.
Exterior changes include the addition of the new Flame Red colour, a wider choice of gold-finished wheels and more roof-design variations. Interior upgrades include 4G eCall, a Qi2-compliant wireless charger and Smart Driving Mode. The specifications also state that an AI assistant will be supported through Gemini OTA updates.
The expected price is reportedly based on the current entry-level model’s price of approximately ¥4,660,000, with the Five expected to be positioned at a lower price. Local-market pricing is expected to be confirmed in future announcements.
