MabGenesis listed on the TSE Growth Market, opening at ¥763, below the ¥830 offer price, and closing at ¥696. Attention is focused on the future milestones of the company, which is developing its business around antibody drugs for dogs and cats.
On the 2nd, MabGenesis listed on the TSE Growth Market. The offer price was ¥830, and the stock opened at ¥763, 8.07% below that price, before trading at ¥696 toward the end of the session. Representative Katsuhiro Shinjo (新庄勝浩) held a listing press conference at the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The listing has heightened market interest in the development and commercialisation of antibody drugs for animals.
The company develops antibody pharmaceuticals for dogs and cats. Its strengths are a technology for isolating and collecting antibodies with the same structure and function, and a highly safe antibody library. Representative Katsuhiro Shinjo (新庄勝浩) said that treatments for skin diseases are currently the best-selling animal antibody drugs worldwide, and that there is also demand for chronic diseases such as CKD.
Regarding its sales target, Director Koizumi (小泉) said that, while the company was not disclosing a specific figure at this stage, its analysis of the number of dogs and cats kept as pets, disease prevalence and the proportion receiving treatment indicated that a substantial market exists. The most advanced pipeline is targeting a launch around 2030, with multiple milestones expected to unfold each year.
The company is expected to maintain its strategy of expanding its business mainly in North America and Europe, followed by Japan and China, after listing. It plans to invest in accelerating research and development and in optimisation through the use of AI. Against the backdrop of growth in the animal antibody drug market, the company is also considering longer-term expansion into human pharmaceuticals, but emphasised its strong intention to focus for now on dominating the animal drug field.
