LaKeel announced that it would bring forward AI investment and accelerate the advancement of DX and AX centered on its cloud-based digital platform. Although earnings declined in the interim period of the fiscal year ending December 2026, investment in AI adoption is progressing steadily, the company said.
Through its LaKeel business, LaKeel supports corporate digital transformation and the adoption of AI. By combining products such as LaKeel DX, LaKeel Blu and LaKeel Apps, it provides a framework that enables companies to develop and operate their own systems in the cloud and keep them up to date through continuous version upgrades.
For the interim period of the fiscal year ending December 2026, sales exceeded ¥39 million, down 8.1% from the previous year, while the company posted an operating loss of ¥71 million. Results were affected by a reactionary decline in LaKeel HR after its growth in the previous period and by investment brought forward into the first quarter. Full-year sales are expected to be ¥8 billion, up 3.5% from the previous year, while operating profit is forecast at ¥0 million, down 100%.
The company is proceeding with upfront investment, including preparations for the release of AI-agent functionality, and plans to record head office relocation costs as an extraordinary loss in the second half. Progress in AI adoption is viewed as steady.
Under its medium-term management plan, the company is targeting sales of ¥20 billion, operating profit of ¥3 billion, ROE of at least 20% and a product and services sales ratio of at least 70% for the fiscal year ending December 2030. It plans to achieve automation and autonomous operations at an early stage by introducing the LaKeel AI Platform and LaKeel Ontology Platform.
