GEI announced after the market close on the 27th that it had entered into a business alliance agreement with the representative entity of the Morimatsu Group. Under the agreement, the two companies plan to jointly advance domestic biomanufacturing projects.
The core of the alliance is the combination of GEI's proprietary bioprocess technology and Morimatsu's global engineering platform. The companies intend to leverage their combined technological capabilities and comprehensive platform to accelerate domestic projects.
The companies also plan to expand sales in global markets, including Southeast Asia, of the technology packages for the “GWE Process,” which produces bioethanol from woody biomass, and the “GOE Process,” which uses waste oil palm wood. Expansion into external markets is a key focus.
The market viewed the announcement as a positive development, with the stock reported to have surged in response.
