Exotec Japan and Mujin announced a business alliance to jointly develop an integrated solution that automates the entire logistics center, from receiving through shipping. By integrating their technologies, the companies aim to connect each warehouse process smoothly through automation.
Exotec Japan and Mujin announced on 19 August a business alliance to provide an integrated solution for automating entire logistics centers. The alliance aims to connect receiving, storage, picking, transport and shipping as a single automated process.
The alliance is intended to eliminate the difficulty of coordinating processes and the operational complexity that have arisen from the conventional practice of combining individual equipment and systems, as well as to address siloing. By automating the entire logistics center as a single concept, the companies aim to improve operability and scalability.
Specifically, the companies will combine Exotec’s three-dimensional mobile robot system, “Skypod,” with Mujin’s robotics technology for pallet handling and transport. They will advance their collaboration around Goods-to-Person transport and MujinOS, an integrated automation platform.
The companies said their technology collaboration will support the realization of a new form of logistics in which people and robots coexist, improve productivity for logistics operators and shippers, and help build a sustainable logistics infrastructure.
